CUT and PAINT BLACKOUT

I was very disappointed that there wasn't a leader class of blackout, and I was even more disappointed with the fact that they let the size of the box decide how small the biggest character of the movie was going to be.

On his own he looks cool enough but you cant have him stand around most of the movie transformers because he looks like a smurf (scale-wise)

I got him second hand for like 10 euros, I didn't want to spend a lot of cash on him as I planned to cut him into pieces.

What I always hated are gadgets that interfere with the transformation. In this case the moving propeller thingy. because that's the reason his back does not tranform... that definitely had to go.
I was not going to have a black out with his ass hanging out.

Some parts had to be reassigned in robot mode, I had seen some customs with the tail taken off, but I wanted the tail of the helicopter to actually go somewhere in robot mode, and have Scorponok's cage in a more suitable location.
The biggest problem was the tail rotor it was constantly getting in the way. That had to be cut off very carefully and placed on Blackout's arm as seen in the movie.

After a while the side panels of the helicopter and the hight of the shoulders started to bother me visually. Because they hide Blackout's face or put him in a constant shadow .

I started playing with the hight and rotation of the side panels. and by the use of magnets I was able to reposition them in robot mode so he looks more relaxed and you are able to see his face from all directions. (AND it makes him look a lot more like the real movie Blackout)

I like this tweak a lot, it makes him feel more like a robot because you visually almost can't recognize the helicopter anymore.
AN EXTRA PLUS: Rotating the side panels like this appearantly shifts his weight more forward so he also doesn't fall backwards anymore.
Finally I've got a Blackout I can live with!

New color palette is a combination of Medium, Blue, light sea grey, sky grey,
A bunch of very small - pain in the ass - decals . To add scale to the character.
Decepticon logos on his arms and a hail megatron on the sides of the cockpit.
