CUSTOM MOVIE SWINDLE

I thought this DPV (Desert Patrol Vehicle) had a close visual connection with the original G1 swindle, so I decided early on to do a repaint in that direction. I believe this vehicle is black in real life but that couldn't stop me.
I never really got the choice of vhicle for Movie Swindle, especially because there was a DPV included in the series

There were a lot of small pieces to repaint here and although it looks like there aren't that much colors on him on first sight. I can assure you every part has a slightly different color just to increase reality and depth.

This repaint was quite time consuming because there were a load of different washes and weathering I did on this. there was also some mild dry brushing involved and a lot of matte finish.

I started with a nice even airbrushed sand color brown, and after adding different brown washes and a thicker black wash the figure got a lot of color depth. After the Black wash it is a good thing to do a light colored wash over the whole figure, so the black feels more natural and less painted.
there is also a slightly dirty wash on the windows so they don't look too nice.

The Decals are custom made,
the "Life's a bargain" should announce in vehicle mode that it's Swindle underneath the hood.
And true Gijoe freaks should be able to figure out that he has the vehicle number of the GIJoe A.W.E Striker. It was tempting to do landmine in that color palette but I've seen that type of repaint around already so I wanted to do something "new." The number is a homage to that beautiful GIJoe vehicle.

I have one regret and that his eyes arent purple. I tried but it didn't look good.

new color pallette:
brown, black, dark grey , dark brown, sand brown, sea grey, light grey

Making of pictures:

I always take a picture of this so I can remember where everything
needs to go. Because I can't remember all this.

Natural airbrush color VS brown wash

Black Wash (at first the black wash always looks really cool but then it
is just too artificial, after this I add a light colored wash (sand brown in
this case to get the final result). Layers of color give great results but are
very time consuming.
